Genevieve McClean: A Visitor

8 Oct – 30 Oct
AV gallery

A Visitor. A glimpse of the past brings a presence to the room.

A Visitor is intended to evoke a sense of being in the building alongside those who dwelled there. A short filmic narrative as an almost-portrait of James Williamson, and an homage to the house as artefact, it offers a fleeting glimpse of life, as it may've seemed for a moment, on one afternoon, one hundred and thirty-nine years ago, as a poetic encounter between the visitor in the space and the man who had that very same space manufactured as a part of his personal estate in the late nineteenth century.
