Sunday 13 October, 5pm
The Wallace Arts Trust is pleased to support rising young violin star, Andrew Kelly, as he heads off to Europe to pursue his career as a performance violinist. The evening at Rannoch offers a delightful programme of music in an intimate chamber music setting as well as a chance to view the incredible range of art on display in this four-storey Arts & Crafts house. Light refreshments and a glass of wine will be served.
Originally from Wellington, Andrew is currently completing his Honours degree at Auckland University and is set to travel to Europe in November to audition for the top music schools in London and Berlin. Ultimately he plans to forge a career as a performance violinist with leading orchestras in Europe before heading back to New Zealand to continue his music career.
Andrew’s musical achievements to date include playing Principal 1st Violin for the NZSO National Youth Orchestra, receiving the esteemed NZSO Erika Scholes Scholarship earlier this year and reaching the Finals of the NZCT Secondary Schools Chamber Music Contest. He has also been the recipient of a number of scholarships during his study at Auckland University and has entertained at a number of charity events and high-profile dinners in Wellington.
